Affirmation Pinwheels for Traders

What is an "affirmation?"  Roget's Thesaurus describes the term as:

"...premise, position, testimony, confirmation, support, assert, profession..."

Profession.  Doesn't that sound good?  An affirmation can = your profession.  Meaning, if you "affirm" your beliefs about your trading ~ then you can affirm your professional acumen as a trader.  In other words, an affirmation can be a word, or statement, that you hold to be true ~ maybe not in this particular moment ~ but you hold to be true in the near future.  An affirmation can assist you in creating a belief or set of beliefs about yourself and your trading ~ when you first begin trading, and more so, once you are immersed in the investment world full-time.

What is a "pinwheel?"  Again, going to Roget's Thesaurus we find this description:

"...entertain, regale, beguile, revel, kick up one's heels, go places, recreate..."

Recreate.  Isn't that what you want to do ~ recreate your skills in a way to bring about your highest trading results?  Who wouldn't!  In other words, a pinwheel is merely a symbol, an object to revel in going places, and recreating your mindset to be the best trader you can be.  In other words ~ recreate can mean movement ~ staying in constant motion, just like the markets are in constant motion.  As the pinwheel turns, your thoughts can turn and flow ~ with the rhythm of your trades.

For instance ~ there are spiral wheels carved into the ground at Chaco Canyon in California, and the Ancient Gaels in Ireland used a similar concept in mound circles to represent the quarterly equinoxes and solstices to enhance their farming.  The Anasazi, who lived around 1300 a.d., also carved spiral wheels within their living spaces, inside their very homes.  We can even find spirals in the heavens ~ certain comets have been shown to create spiral circles around themselves.  The ancient art of paper-folding, Origami, also represents one creating a circular object by folding paper certain ways.

So what does this all mean?  All these types of carvings, buildings, or foldings represent someone, or a group of people, creating a tangible object to:

  • Remind them of their FOCUS
  • Bring about a DESIRED RESULT of that focus

In other words, all these created objects ~ some sort of pinwheel ~ represent the infinite possibilities of prosperity.  How?  By helping you stay focused on your goals.  And, by using this simple technique ~ having a pinwheel somewhere in your trading space ~ can only remind you to keep moving, be in motion, and stay focused.
